Responsibilities
- Solve mechanical, thermal, structural, and fluid system problems on space-grade hardware using first-principles analysis.
- Design and analyze hardware upgrades informed by production data and failure trends.
- Produce design documentation including drawings, tolerance analyses, and test plans.
- Ensure hardware meets structural and mechanical load environments without over-mass or over-constraint.
- Support mechanical interface definition in partnership with various teams.
- Apply DFMA practices to reduce rework and improve production yield.
- Plan and execute tests to validate corrective actions and confirm hardware requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of technical engineering experience.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
- Experience designing and testing aerospace hardware.
- Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFMA fundamentals.
- Proficiency with scripting for analysis and data visualization.
