Responsibilities

  • Solve mechanical, thermal, structural, and fluid system problems on space-grade hardware using first-principles analysis.
  • Design and analyze hardware upgrades informed by production data and failure trends.
  • Produce design documentation including drawings, tolerance analyses, and test plans.
  • Ensure hardware meets structural and mechanical load environments without over-mass or over-constraint.
  • Support mechanical interface definition in partnership with various teams.
  • Apply DFMA practices to reduce rework and improve production yield.
  • Plan and execute tests to validate corrective actions and confirm hardware requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred.
  • Experience designing and testing aerospace hardware.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and DFMA fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with scripting for analysis and data visualization.
