Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze requirements, and develop trade studies on mechanism design options.
- Create and iterate detailed CAD models of design options, including geometry and materials.
- Analyze load conditions for compliance using classical and FEA methods.
- Develop test plans for long-term reliability assessments.
- Define qualification plans and identify acceptance testing methods for production.
- Facilitate cost trades for manufacturability and design uncertainty.
- Produce complete design packages including drawings, analysis reports, and assembly documentation.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- 2+ years of experience developing space-rated Moving Mechanical Assemblies.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys FEA tools (preferred).
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience with CAD tools like NX and Teamcenter (preferred).
