Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze requirements, and develop trade studies on mechanism design options.
- Create and iterate detailed CAD models, including mechanism geometry and assembly processes.
- Analyze load conditions (static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue) for compliance.
- Develop test plans and statistical analyses for long-term reliability assessments.
- Define qualification plans and acceptance testing methods for volume production.
- Facilitate cost trades for manufacturability versus design uncertainty.
- Produce complete design packages, including detailed drawings and analysis reports.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- 2+ years of experience developing space-rated Moving Mechanical Assemblies.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys FEA tools.
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent.
- Experience in designing complex mechanical products for volume production.
