Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design, develop, and improve production processes through collaboration with a team of manufacturing engineers.
- Serve as the primary technical interface to the development team during design reviews and new product development activities.
- Support the operations team by resolving technical issues during high-pressure situations.
- Own the capacity increase roadmap for production, including defining and leading the design and installation of new equipment.
- Work on the shop floor with production teams to implement processes and solve technical blockers.
- Conduct independent development work to identify and implement production improvements.
- Mentor and coach other engineers to develop their skills and ensure execution of the technical vision.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Experience with opto-mechanical systems and low-rate manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and root cause analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams on product design from concept to production.
- Familiarity with project management and experience with ERP software like SAP.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as NX Unigraphics and statistical analysis software like Minitab.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and writing skills.
