Responsibilities
- Assist with software development and scripting of NASA’s trajectory optimization tools.
- Develop new features and algorithms requested by the NASA customer.
- Perform integration with other trajectory software and tools.
- Ensure NASA requirements are satisfied by design solutions.
- Provide trajectory products supporting spacecraft mission design and analysis.
- Perform trajectory optimization runs for various mission scenarios.
- Provide recommendations for program acceptance of requirements verification and testing.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in engineering with 8 years of experience or a master's degree with 4 years in spacecraft trajectory analysis.
- Expertise in orbital mechanics and spacecraft mission design.
- Experience in programming and scripting languages like Fortran, Python, and C++.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass a government background investigation.
- Preferred: MS in Aerospace Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in spacecraft trajectory design.
- Familiarity with NASA organizations and deep space mission systems engineering.
