Responsibilities
- Design and create drawings for flight components in the Environmental Control System.
- Build physics-based models and perform data-driven analysis to inform design decisions.
- Design test equipment and experiments to validate component designs.
- Design equipment and tools to support the manufacturing, integration, and quality control of flight components.
- Collaborate with design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, and integration teams to progress projects through the design, build, test, iterate loop.
Job Requirements
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering; previous co-op, internship, or related work experience required.
- Heading into junior year or above of undergrad degree.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and practical understanding of mechanical design, design for manufacturing, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Ability to take a proactive hands-on approach to problem identification, prototyping, iterative design, validation testing, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient with 3D CAD and 2D drawing software.
- Practical manufacturing or machine shop experience.
