Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Joby Aviation is seeking an engineer to join the Powertrain and Electronics team to support the development of the environmental control system for the Joby S4 air taxi.

• Design and create drawings for flight components in the Environmental Control System
• Build physics-based models and perform data-driven analysis
• Design test equipment and experiments for validation
• Design equipment and tools for manufacturing and quality control
• Collaborate with various teams for project progression

• Pursuing undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Analytical understanding of mechanical design, fluid dynamics, heat transfer
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawing software
• Practical manufacturing or machine shop experience
• Experience with cooling systems, electric motors, and other mechanical assemblies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
