Mechanical Engineer

The role involves designing and developing CO2 lasers and laser components in collaboration with Laser Scientists and RF Engineers at Novanta, a company focused on creating precision technology products for healthcare and advanced manufacturing.

• Lead projects to develop new CO2 lasers for demanding applications
• Conduct research applying engineering principles to laser development
• Design and modify drawings using Solid Works
• Ensure product quality and reliability through testing and analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project development
• Prepare reports on design and testing information
• Support manufacturing and problem-solving activities

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's degree a plus
• 2+ years of experience in industrial environments
• Proficiency in Solid Works and Finite Element Analysis
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, processing, and materials
• Experience in project management and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with DFx, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Design for Manufacturing
• Additional software knowledge is a plus
