Test Engineer Intern, Electrical and Software (Long Beach) - Summer 2025

The role is within the Factory Test team at Relativity Space, focusing on hardware testing in Long Beach facilities with a specific emphasis on electrical hardware and automation supporting test operations across the rocket factory.

• Design advanced control and data acquisition systems for various test stands
• Create, modify, and optimize software for testing and launching Terran R
• Support test operations and improve existing test stands
• Design and build data acquisition cabinets and harnessing for test stands
• Select, integrate, and configure instrumentation on test stands
• Design custom PCBs for reading sensors and controlling actuators on test stands
• Checkout and tune control systems for hydraulic actuators

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in relevant engineering fields
• Solid electrical fundamentals
• Basic knowledge of common instrumentation
• Experience with data acquisition hardware and control systems
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python
• Familiarity with software development processes
• Prior aerospace experience not required
