Tesla is seeking Mechanical Engineers to design propulsion motors for heavy trucking from concept to volume production.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D CAD and 2D drawings for various motor components
- Drive development in winding technology, magnet technology, and other areas
- Identify and qualify suppliers of materials and components
- Develop design validation and durability testing profiles
- Lead designs through high-volume production and cost reductions
- Mentor Junior Engineers and Interns
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in motor design from concept to production
- Familiarity with coil winding, termination, and magnet technologies
- Automotive design and validation experience
- Proficiency in GD&T, 3D CAD, DFMEA, PFMEA, and FEA
- Bonus skills in Catia, NVH analysis, and electromagnetics design
