Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer, Technical Infrastructure

The role is for a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer in the Supply Chain Organization at Google, responsible for providing manufacturing support and guidance for packaging and electro-mechanical products.

• Perform design for manufacturability/assembly and design for cost analyses for various parts and assemblies.
• Identify and qualify contract manufacturers/vendors for specific manufacturing processes.
• Provide mechanical manufacturing engineering support to global partners and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Drive process improvements to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
• Use the product data management system to maintain bills of materials and approved vendor lists.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Experience in metal stamping, tool design, and construction.
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and product data management systems.
• Understanding of precision sheet metal fabrication and plastic injection molding processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
