Mechanical Design Engineer, Thermal HVAC, Semi

Tesla Motors is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work on designing the SuperManifold/OctoValve assembly for the Tesla heat pump system within the Vehicle Engineering team.

• Mechanical design and packaging of thermal system components
• Manage suppliers and projects for timely program deliverables
• Develop component and system level requirements
• Lead creation of technical design documents
• Execute component and subsystem design verification plans
• Ensure vehicles comply with safety standards
• Support vehicle programs throughout the life cycle

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in designing and building
• Proficiency in design, packaging, and 3D modeling
• Passion for electric vehicles and energy efficiency
• Knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
• Working knowledge of automotive thermal systems and manufacturing processes
• Ability to solve design problems with tight timing constraints
