Development Engineer I

The role is for a Development Engineer at Rapid Micro Biosystems (RMB) focusing on designing, developing, and testing microbial devices using innovative technologies.

• Design and develop automated microbial devices and consumables
• Utilize CAD software for detailed design drawings and prototypes
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design verification activities
• Perform engineering analysis and testing for mechanical, electrical, and software aspects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for product development and validation
• Assist in maintaining the laboratory and facilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 0 to 1 years of experience in device design and development preferred
• Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Knowledge of design controls, risk management, and quality management systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and communicate technical information effectively
• Basic knowledge of rapid prototyping methods and model shop experience is a plus
