Propulsion Engineer

The role is for a Full-Time Senior Propulsion Engineer at Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, responsible for all aspects of propulsion system hardware design, analysis, implementation, and operation for high-performance spacecraft.

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for spacecraft propulsion systems
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable propulsion systems
• Manage interface with external customers for mission success
• Ensure hardware performance meets intent through analysis and design reviews
• Prepare, plan, and execute system validation tests
• Resolve technical issues with innovative solutions

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
• 3+ years of aerospace propulsion experience
• Proficiency in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mechanics, and materials
• Hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
• Ability in conceptual design, fabrication, and testing of hardware
• Project ownership and collaboration skills
• Preferred: Master's degree, experience in spaceflight propulsion, familiarity with NASA and DoD standards, startup environment experience
