Mechanical Engineer, Solar, Kuiper Mechanical

The role is focused on designing high-power, cost-efficient, and lightweight solar modules for satellites in low Earth orbit as part of Project Kuiper.

• Design and enhance solar modules for Kuiper Satellites, optimizing degradation factors and manufacturability.
• Analyze requirements and interfaces for solar modules in trade studies.
• Create detailed CAD models, including drawings and process requirements.
• Analyze load conditions for compliance with various factors.
• Develop and test sample solar modules for process and design improvements.
• Define test plans and qualification methods for long-term reliability assessments.
• Produce complete design packages with detailed documentation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of work experience as a mechanical engineer.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience with Solar Modules, Solar Cells, or Solar Arrays.
• Proficiency in CAD and PLM systems.
• Experience in defining requirements and test plans for complex systems.
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and manage technical projects.
• Knowledge of hardware design considerations for space environmental factors.
