Assistant Mechanical Engineer

The role involves reviewing and approving asbestos project notifications, amendments, and variance applications for compliance with regulations.

• Review and approve asbestos project notifications and construction plan drawings.
• Conduct pre-abatement and active abatement inspections.
• Serve as an emergency responder during asbestos emergency incidents.
• Provide technical assistance on complex projects and regulatory development.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of building assessment for asbestos and hazardous materials.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with asbestos regulations in NYC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to engage in physical activities like climbing stairs and ladders.
• Valid NYS Driver's License preferred.
