Mechanical Design Engineer, Chassis

The role involves working in the Chassis Design Engineering team at Tesla to contribute to delivering safe, efficient, and enjoyable driving experiences while focusing on sustainability and value.

• Develop system architecture for pneumatic systems, air generation, and processing, and air brake systems
• Tune pneumatic system response and establish fault detection methods
• Optimize designs in 3D CAD software and validate manufacturing feasibility
• Release component designs and documentation, including 2D drawings
• Resolve issues with cross-functional teams and manage engineering relationships with suppliers

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proficiency in a 3D CAD software, knowledge of GD&T
• Experience with component design, analysis, and validation
• Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills
• Evidence of being a self-starter and bringing projects to completion
• Prior experience in a relevant engineering field is valued, heavy or commercial vehicle systems experience is a plus
