Distributed Systems Engineer (L5) - Traffic Engineering

The role involves working in Netflix's Traffic Engineering team to optimize speed and scale for live events and streaming services.

• Building and operating services, APIs, and tooling for scaling live events and streaming.
• Operating highly reliable distributed systems in a cloud environment.
• Engaging with end engineering users to improve their experience.
• Solving business needs at scale with high-quality solutions.
• Proactively communicating for cross-functional alignment.

• 7+ years of professional Software Engineering experience with cloud-native technologies.
• Solid understanding of modern software engineering best practices.
• Experience in L4-L7 networking technologies and traffic management.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Passion for technology and ability to solve complex problems.
• Data analytics and data manipulation skills are a plus.
• Experience in building and operating live event streaming at scale is a plus.
