Mechanical Engineer - Thermal / Fluids Hardware Design

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Professional Level Mechanical Engineer to design hardware focusing on thermal and fluids analysis for their linear generator technology.

• Lead and participate in brainstorming activities for improving the Linear Generator.
• Develop and optimize key thermal subsystems to enhance cost, performance, and reliability.
• Validate systems and components with reliability and test teams for deployment into the next generation of Linear Generators.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering and external suppliers for rapid deployment of new designs.

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field + 3 years of experience or MS + 2 years of experience.
• Experience in designing air or liquid handling systems with thermo-fluid system design fundamentals.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
• Familiarity with finite element analysis and thermal system design simulation tools.
• Ability to work with suppliers, develop new components, and manage design documentation.
• Self-starter with a full design lifecycle experience and interest in zero carbon energy technology deployment.
