Mechanical Design Engineer, Rings

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on the design of solid lubricant systems for their Linear Generator, focusing on complex moving parts in the piston and ring system.

• Design complex moving parts in the piston and ring system
• Support Root Cause Investigation efforts of subsystems
• Manage and resolve quality notices related to vendor supplied parts

• Bachelor's with at least two years’ experience or Master's in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD package
• Solid understanding of structural mechanics and FEA
• Ability to generate 2D drawings for manufacturing
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in Data Science and Python Programming is a plus
• Experience in Failure Criteria, Fatigue, Stress Relaxation, and Creep is a plus
