The role involves working as a turbomachinery engineer at a start-up focused on developing reusable rocket engines to increase access to space.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test turbopumps for liquid rocket engines
  • Perform sizing and flowpath design for various turbomachinery components
  • Own test verification activities and performance trending of components
  • Develop design improvement plans and tools for vibration and rotordynamics performance
  • Conduct fault tree investigations and root cause analysis

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in rocket engine turbopumps or related turbomachinery
  • Proficiency in hydrodynamic/aerodynamic design and CAD tools
  • Experience in mechanical design, material selection, and testing of turbomachinery components
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, compressible and incompressible flow, and cryogenics
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Ability to lead, follow, and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to relocate to Seattle, WA
