Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

Tau is seeking Staff Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team in advancing technology and commercializing innovative products in the automotive sector.

• Design and build hardware systems for automotive and energy storage applications
• Develop and optimize designs in 3D CAD software
• Validate manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility
• Integrate mechanical designs with high-voltage electrical systems
• Optimize designs for various factors such as size, weight, durability, and cost
• Participate in sourcing process and manage supplier relationships
• Deliver designs according to defined schedules

• 8 - 12 years of relevant industry experience
• Strong 3D CAD skills and understanding of GD&T
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and component design
• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Hands-on mechanical fabrication and prototyping experience
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills
