The company, Tau, is seeking Staff Motor Controls Engineers to join their team in advancing technology and translating innovative products to the market.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements for motor control software and interfacing hardware components
- Design, implement, and test motor controller functionality and algorithms
- Translate algorithms into software implementation and integrate into firmware
- Test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementation
- Develop and validate motor control algorithms in the laboratory and in-vehicle
- Maintain awareness of crucial component technologies for future inverter/motor designs
- Advance Tau's intellectual property in electric motor design and motor controls
Job Requirements
- Strong fundamentals in AC electric motors and drive systems analysis
- Proficiency in linear systems analysis, stability, and controller design
- Experience with embedded firmware development in C/C++
- Model development and data analysis in Python or Matlab/Simulink
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams
- Master or PhD degree in relevant engineering field
- In-depth understanding of motor control techniques and experience with control system theory
