Responsibilities
- Design and build complex mechanical prototypes and assemblies in CATIA.
- Accurately model surfaces, geometries, and assemblies for rapid prototyping.
- Create detailed drawings, documentation, and BOMs for fabrication and testing.
- Develop tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds for efficient prototyping.
- Collaborate across design, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- Research and apply emerging materials and manufacturing techniques.
- Lead complex prototyping projects across multiple functions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or prototyping; automotive experience preferred.
- Expertise in 3D CAD design for solids and surfaces; CATIA V5/V6 preferred.
- Proven ability to lead complex prototyping projects.
- Hands-on experience with machining, welding, composites, or additive manufacturing is a bonus.
- Familiarity with documentation and project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Confluence.
- Experience managing suppliers to support prototyping efforts is a bonus.
