Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts and evaluate tradeoffs based on product and engineering requirements.
  • Use 2D and 3D CAD tools to design parts and assemblies.
  • Design, build, and test prototypes to gather quick learnings.
  • Collaborate with other teams and suppliers to review designs.
  • Design and run electro-mechanical testers for reliability of components.
  • Root cause failures and develop tests to replicate failure modes.
  • Document work to ensure clarity in decision-making.

Job Requirements

  • Completed at least the second year of Undergraduate studies; Masters and PhD students eligible.
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals for part sizing and integration.
  • Experience with automation, actuators, and Raspberry Pi’s or similar.
  • Proficient in CAD with multiple design projects.
  • Experience working on complex projects involving mechanical, electrical, and software design.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Strong problem-solving attitude and ability to anticipate and plan work.
