Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts and evaluate tradeoffs based on product and engineering requirements.
  • Use 2D and 3D CAD tools to design parts and assemblies.
  • Design, build, and test prototypes to gather quick learnings.
  • Collaborate with other teams and suppliers to review designs.
  • Create and run electro-mechanical testers to ensure reliability of components.
  • Root cause failures and develop tests to replicate failure modes.
  • Document work for clarity on key decisions made.

Job Requirements

  • Completed at least the second year of Undergraduate studies; Masters and PhD students are eligible.
  • Solid mechanical engineering fundamentals for sizing parts and integrating designs.
  • Experience with automation, actuators, and Raspberry Pi’s (or similar).
  • Proficiency in CAD with multiple completed projects.
  • Experience in complex projects involving mechanical, electrical, and software design.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to solving critical problems.
