Responsibilities
- Research and develop innovative products
- Manage multiple projects from ideation to hand-over
- Translate non-technical requests into technical performance requirements
- Establish product architecture including part breakout and material selection
- Create proof of principle prototypes
- Utilize CAD/CAE analysis tools to raise confidence in design
- Work with internal and external labs to establish appropriate test criteria for new technologies
Job Requirements
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Greater than 5 years of Design Engineering or R&D experience
- Proficient in 2D, 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience with multi-component assemblies and mechanisms
- FEA analysis experience (ANSYS, Moldex3D preferred)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, casting, etc.) preferred
