Responsibilities
- Brainstorm creative solutions to mechanical, manufacturing, and mechatronic problems
- Design elements of the aircraft and/or ground support infrastructure in CAD
- Sketch, design, build and test prototypes or proof of concepts
- Perform detailed design of manufacturing-ready parts in CAD
- Complete engineering analysis from hand-calcs to FEA, and test assemblies to ensure flight readiness
- Collaborate with teammates and other teams on simple and elegant assembly designs
- Interface with external vendors to scale ideas
Job Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of full-time professional industry experience
- Proficient in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience designing robust mechanical assemblies and electronics enclosures
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping fabrication and testing methods
- Ability to work independently and navigate trade spaces
- Strong communication skills across functional teams
