Responsibilities
- Brainstorm creative solutions to mechanical, manufacturing, and mechatronic problems.
- Design elements of the aircraft and/or ground support infrastructure in CAD.
- Sketch, design, build and test prototypes or proof of concepts.
- Perform detailed design of manufacturing-ready parts in CAD.
- Conduct engineering analysis and thorough testing of assemblies to ensure flight readiness.
- Collaborate with teammates to promote simple and elegant assembly designs.
- Interface with manufacturing, electrical, UX, and other teams, and work with external vendors.
Job Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of full-time professional industry experience.
- Proficient in CAD software and EPDM (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience in designing robust mechanical assemblies and integrated electronics enclosures.
- Knowledge of static and dynamic systems analysis through hand calculations and FEA.
- Practical knowledge of rapid prototyping fabrication and test methods.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functional teams.
