Responsibilities
- Brainstorm creative solutions to mechanical, manufacturing, and mechatronic problems
- Design elements of the aircraft and/or ground support infrastructure in CAD
- Sketch, design, build, and test prototypes or proof of concepts
- Perform detailed design of manufacturing-ready parts in CAD
- Complete engineering analysis from hand-calcs to FEA, and thorough testing of assemblies
- Collaborate with teammates to push for simple and elegant assemblies
- Interface with manufacturing, electrical, UX, and other teams
Job Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of full-time professional industry experience
- Proficient in CAD software and EPDM (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience in designing robust mechanical assemblies and tightly integrated electronics enclosures
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping fabrication and test methods
- Ability to work independently and navigate trade spaces
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across functional teams
