Responsibilities
- Design and implement mechanical systems for avionics in high-altitude balloons.
- Collaborate to develop custom enclosures and mechanisms for safe deployment.
- Conduct environmental and functional testing of avionic systems.
- Develop pre-flight verification and post-flight data validation processes.
- Analyze in-flight performance to improve mechanical interfaces.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support mission success.
- Interface with suppliers for sourcing mechanical components.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 3-10+ years of experience in mechanical design and testing.
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design.
- Experience with environmental testing under extreme conditions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and located near Denver, CO.
