Responsibilities

  • Develop combustion, heat transfer, and airflow models for thermal fault scenarios.
  • Execute component safety and subsystem design verification plans.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create realistic models and test plans.
  • Guide product design with clear technical documentation.
  • Optimize safety and functionality in mass-production stationary storage systems.
  • Validate models and product adherence to requirements.
  • Solve novel thermal design problems.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience modeling combustion events, including fire modeling.
  • Motivation and ability to solve complex thermal design problems.
  • Passion for renewable energy.
  • Experience with Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), STAR-CCM, or other CFD tools.
  • Knowledge in lithium-ion battery fires.
  • Strong fundamentals in combustion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
