Responsibilities

  • Develop combustion, heat transfer, and airflow models for thermal fault scenarios.
  • Execute component safety and subsystem design verification plans.
  • Validate models and ensure product adherence to safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create realistic models and test plans.
  • Document technical specifications to guide product design.
  • Optimize safety and functionality of mass-production stationary storage systems.
  • Engage in projects critical to the team's success and Tesla's mission.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience modeling combustion events, including fire modeling.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex thermal design challenges.
  • Passion for renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), STAR-CCM, or other CFD tools.
  • Proficiency in Matlab or Python.
  • Solid understanding of combustion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
