Responsibilities
- Develop combustion, heat transfer, and airflow models for thermal fault scenarios.
- Execute component safety and subsystem design verification plans.
- Validate models and ensure product adherence to safety requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create realistic models and test plans.
- Document technical specifications to guide product design.
- Optimize safety and functionality of mass-production stationary storage systems.
- Engage in projects critical to the team's success and Tesla's mission.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience modeling combustion events, including fire modeling.
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex thermal design challenges.
- Passion for renewable energy.
- Familiarity with Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), STAR-CCM, or other CFD tools.
- Proficiency in Matlab or Python.
- Solid understanding of combustion, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
