Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical, mechanical, and thermal abuse tests on battery cells and systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines, including mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Provide rapid feedback to inform design improvements based on test results.
  • Utilize specialized equipment for applying stresses to battery systems.
  • Participate in the destructive testing of batteries at various levels (pack, module, cell).
  • Assist in setting up, running, and analyzing hands-on tests and characterizations.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and modifying test systems as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer, combustion principles, and fluid mechanics.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery systems and their characteristics.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment testing, assembly, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Catia V5, V6, or Solidworks).
  • Experience with programming languages such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods for prototyping and testing.
