Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical, mechanical, and thermal abuse tests on battery cells and systems.
- Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines, including mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Provide rapid feedback to inform design improvements based on test results.
- Utilize specialized equipment for applying stresses to battery systems.
- Participate in the destructive testing of batteries at various levels (pack, module, cell).
- Assist in setting up, running, and analyzing hands-on tests and characterizations.
- Engage in troubleshooting and modifying test systems as needed.
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, combustion principles, and fluid mechanics.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery systems and their characteristics.
- Hands-on experience with equipment testing, assembly, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Catia V5, V6, or Solidworks).
- Experience with programming languages such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods for prototyping and testing.
