Field Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary onsite electrical contact for cold rolling mill installations.
  • Supervise installation and commissioning of automation and control systems (PLC/HMI), power distribution, and motor drives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control logic, motor performance, and instrumentation on site.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, automation, and process teams for system integration.
  • Interface with customers and subcontractors during site execution.
  • Work with AC/DC drives, motors, MCCs, operator stations, and HMIs in high-automation environments.
  • Travel extensively for site visits, typically 80% of the time.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical commissioning or field service, ideally in the steel/metals industry.
  • Proven experience with PLC programming and HMI development.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems used in cold rolling processes.
  • Understanding of motor control systems and industrial sensors/actuators.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
