Responsibilities
- Design opto-mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Apply geometric tolerancing per ANSI/ASME Y14.5M.
- Conduct thermal and stress analysis with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS Workbench.
- Manage mechanical specifications and planning for electro-optical system design.
- Test complex opto-mechanical mechanisms and optical systems.
- Communicate effectively with cross-discipline teams across multiple locations.
- Travel approximately 5% domestically as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and/or analysis.
- Experience with opto-mechanical parts and assemblies is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in designing Gimbal (or Pan and Tilt) mechanisms is a plus.
- Experience with Servo Systems for motion control is required.
- Familiarity with Optical Systems (IR Optical preferred).
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and Ingress Protection (IP) sealed systems.
