Recovery Reliability Engineer

The Recovery Reliability Engineer at SpaceX focuses on ensuring the reliability of flight and ground components, collaborating with various teams to enhance operational processes and drive improvements in reliability throughout the design, production, and maintenance phases.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Long Beach Recovery Operations Reliability.
• Interact with disciplines responsible for post-mission recovery to optimize processes and designs.
• Identify risks and implement improvements during post-flight vehicle processing or recovery vessel refurbishment.
• Lead investigations to find solutions to complex problems.
• Maintain a feedback loop to prioritize resolving high impact issues.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure design for quality and manufacturability.
• Adopt a Lean approach to quality while ensuring safety and reliability.

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of professional or internship experience in quality, manufacturing, test, or design engineering.
• Experience with complex systems in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of quality tools such as Lean principles and Six Sigma.
• Ability to pass background checks and work extended hours as needed.
• Capability to work directly with hardware on the floor for extended periods.
• U.S. citizenship or eligibility to obtain required authorizations for export regulations.
