Propulsion Components Design Engineer (Falcon)

Responsibilities

  • Question status quo and develop solutions to enable Falcon reuse and launch cadence.
  • Plan and execute component flight qualification test plans (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal cycle).
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause investigations of component and flight anomalies.
  • Identify flight risks and develop mitigations to ensure mission success.
  • Design and analyze new fluid components for Falcon vehicles.
  • Generate detailed drawings and specifications, coordinating manufacturing with production groups.
  • Engage in hands-on testing and troubleshooting at test/launch sites.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of hands-on hardware experience in fabrication, assembly, or testing.
  • 1+ years of experience with CAD or FEA software packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to own hardware or systems in an integrated engineering team.
  • Knowledge of mechanisms, fluid control components, and test instrumentation.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Analytical programming experience (Python, MATLAB, Excel).
