Responsibilities
- Develop machining capability in-house for Starship components and deliver high-quality precision parts.
- Analyze piece parts and assemblies for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to optimize for manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
- Maintain a feedback loop with downstream operations to ensure product success.
- Review quality concerns from inspections and sign off on out-of-tolerance conditions.
- Identify, recommend, procure, and install machine shop equipment.
- Responsible for cost optimization and reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with other machine shop facilities to address capacity and scheduling issues.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of machine shop experience.
- Experience with state-of-the-art machining equipment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNCs, lathes, and mills.
- Knowledge of GD&T and inspection procedures.
- Experience with precision metrology systems.
- Master's degree preferred.
