Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for repairs and modifications of production equipment in various SpaceX programs, focusing on maximizing equipment availability and addressing technical challenges.

• Define, develop, implement, and optimize maintenance strategies for production equipment.
• Own complex equipment improvement projects to maximize availability and minimize downtime.
• Lead maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and resolving equipment failures.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and fault tree analysis (FTA) for repetitive failures.
• Support hands-on repairs of mechanical, electrical, fluid, pneumatic, and control system failures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve design for maintainability (DfM).
• Interface with various departments to resolve production hold factors.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
• 6+ months of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with MRP, ERP, and CMMS systems.
• Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles preferred.
• Capability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
