Responsibilities
- Drive hardware development for systems within the Starship tower and launch mount.
- Own design and manufacturing of mechanisms, actuation systems, fluid systems, and large structures.
- Perform structural, dynamic, thermal, and fluids analysis for system optimization.
- Collaborate with software and operations engineers to develop robust systems for launch environments.
- Work with engineers designing the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles for effective integration.
- Ensure designs meet requirements for extreme launch conditions.
- Support the goal of achieving a ZERO refurbishment state for rapid launch readiness.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience with CAD and FEA software packages.
- 1+ years of experience with mechanical or fluid systems design and assembly.
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis preferred.
- Solid understanding of GD&T and manufacturing techniques.
- Physical dexterity required for working in tight quarters at high elevations.
