Development Test Engineer

The Development Test Engineer role at SpaceX involves working within the Development Test group to develop and test new products, ground systems, spacecraft, and launch vehicles, focusing on reducing hardware development time and increasing reliability.

• Create test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists.
• Design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms.
• Supervise the integration of test stands including fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data/control systems.
• Operate test stands with great attention to detail.
• Conduct development tests for new structures, components, and mechanisms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on test development.
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards during testing.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in mechanical structures design and analysis.
• Understanding and proper application of GD&T.
• Experience with Unigraphics (NX) and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Hands-on design and fabrication experience.
• Basic programming skills (Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS preferred).
• Ability to travel and work in various environments, including elevated heights.
