Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop designs for Starship's propulsion system turbomachinery.
- Design, build, and test turbopumps for Starship.
- Perform structural analysis on components and assemblies, including thermal deformation analysis.
- Develop and train teammates to support product ownership using risk-conscious decision-making.
- Interface with the production team to ensure successful design translation into rockets.
- Maintain a positive attitude amidst technical challenges.
- Willingness to work extended hours and in various environments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and structural analysis.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
- Preferred: Master’s degree and experience with ANSYS for structural analysis.
- Understanding of thermodynamics, flow mechanics, and structural design.
- Strong mentoring skills and desire to grow employees.
- Ability to work in hazardous conditions and extended hours as needed.
