Responsibilities
- Evaluate and prototype new technologies in Cellular and Wireless Connectivity, and Location Technologies.
- Work with external technology and SoC vendors to influence their roadmaps.
- Collaborate with product teams to align technology exploration with product requirements.
- Map new technologies to potential Samsara products.
- Communicate and develop with firmware/software engineers and hardware teams.
- Integrate security considerations into all stages of product development.
- Understand and apply regulatory compliance requirements relevant to wireless and IoT devices.
Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on development experience in embedded Linux systems and RTOS systems.
- Experience with low-level C, Linux kernel development, and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with hardware-firmware integration and communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with cloud connectivity and IoT platforms is a plus.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
