Responsibilities
- Conduct deep dive and rapid response failure analysis investigations on power electronics and energy storage systems.
- Collaborate with electrical FA engineers and other engineering teams on failure analysis needs.
- Utilize high voltage test equipment for diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare detailed failure analysis reports and present findings to project teams.
- Work with reliability engineering to recreate and analyze failure modes.
- Maintain communication regarding the capabilities of the failure analysis team.
- Ensure root cause identification for incidents from reliability testing and fielded systems.
Job Requirements
- MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in automotive.
- Strong background in testing and analysis of electrical components and systems.
- Experience in performing failure analysis investigations.
- Hands-on experience with metrology and high voltage failure analysis equipment.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery chemistries and failure mechanisms.
- Experience in preparing formal reports summarizing analysis data.
