Sr. Staff Electrical FA Engineer

The Sr. Staff Electrical FA Engineer will conduct failure analysis investigations for Rivian's Electric Adventure Vehicles, focusing on high voltage electrical and energy storage systems. The role involves working closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve issues, as well as preparing detailed reports on findings.

• Conduct deep dive and rapid response failure analysis investigations.
• Specialize in power electronics, HVDB, DC/DC charging, inverters, and energy storage systems.
• Understand and utilize electrical testing methods and equipment for failure analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define needs for failure analysis.
• Perform failure analysis activities for new product development and fielded systems.
• Prepare and present failure analysis reports to project teams and executives.
• Work with reliability engineering to recreate failure modes for analysis.

• MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in testing and analyzing EE components and power electronics.
• Proven experience in failure analysis investigations.
• Hands-on experience with metrology and failure analysis equipment.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery chemistries and failure mechanisms.
• Experience in preparing formal analysis reports.
