Responsibilities
- Motor design iteration between electromagnetic design and manufacturing.
- Driving decisions on motor type, winding technology, and materials.
- Speed and temperature sensor design and selection.
- Conducting linear static stress analyses for systems.
- Designing and modeling stators, rotors, sensors, and fasteners.
- Executing design verification processes and maintaining DFMEAs.
- Collaborating with various engineering teams to take designs from prototypes to mass production.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency with CAE analysis software (Ansys, Abaqus, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of motor design variables and their effects.
- Experience with high volume manufacturing processes for motor fabrication.
- Familiarity with Matlab and/or Python.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and toleranceing (GD&T).
- Proficiency in mechanical integration and troubleshooting.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of material properties and mechanics.
