Responsibilities
- Design and prototype efficient power converters for high-volume production.
- Compare and select topologies, control algorithms, and semiconductors for power converters.
- Create time-domain control and thermal models to inform software and mechanical development.
- Engage in critical aspects of powertrain layout and circuit board design.
- Mentor test technicians in designing tests and interpreting results.
- Conduct rapid iterations on prototypes based on feedback from various stakeholders.
- Ensure manufacturability and electrical function in component selection.
Job Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in power conversion or energy storage.
- Familiarity with high-voltage design (up to 2000VDC and 480VAC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with semiconductor selection and protection circuit design.
- Proficiency in using EE tools like oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
- Hands-on experience in design, prototyping, and launching products in medium-to-high volume production.
