Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test passive and active opto-mechanical systems.
  • Conduct performance analysis and generate qualification/inspection reports.
  • Compare different designs and approaches based on key figures of merit.
  • Collaborate with optical design, opto-mechanical design, and integrated photonics teams.
  • Monitor and automate optical and opto-mechanical systems.
  • Utilize scientific programming languages and optical simulation tools.
  • Return to degree program after the internship completion.

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.
  • Graduation on or after 2026.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to contractual requirements.
  • Experience with imaging and laser optics, including micro-optics.
  • Familiarity with optical design programs (e.g., Code V, Zemax).
  • Experience with mechanical design programs (e.g., Solid Works, Onshape).
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-group collaboration.
