The Aerospace Engineering Intern will assist in developing and testing the aerodynamic and performance characteristics of next-generation composite aircraft, providing exposure to the aircraft development process from simulation to validation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing aerodynamic surfaces and configurations using CFD tools
- Support performance analyses for aerodynamic and flight efficiency studies
- Compare CFD and analytical results to wind tunnel or flight test data
- Contribute to flight dynamics modeling and simulation for stability and control evaluation
- Prepare and refine geometry in CAD for aerodynamic analysis
- Work on design trade studies balancing aerodynamic performance and manufacturability
- Document aerodynamic results and participate in test preparation and data review
Job Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with CFD tools like ANSYS Fluent or OpenFOAM
- Basic understanding of aerodynamics and aircraft performance
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360
- Interest in aerodynamic optimization and performance analysis
- Ability to process and visualize simulation or flight data
- Motivated learner with a hands-on mindset and strong attention to detail
