Responsibilities
- Translate user and system requirements into mechanical specifications.
- Lead design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFS) with vendors.
- Define factory and site acceptance test criteria and witness tests.
- Support onsite assembly and coordinate rigging with contractors.
- Design and manage fixtures, guarding, enclosures, and mounting solutions.
- Maintain bills of materials, revision control, and documentation.
- Incorporate safety and ergonomics into designs and collaborate on interlocks.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and vendor-facing manufacturing.
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks & PDM), GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- Experience with fixtures and enclosures for automation systems.
- Comfortable with onsite installations in a fast-paced environment.
- Bonus: Robotics/automation experience and FEA simulation skills.
