Responsibilities
- Lead the design, fabrication, and assembly of low-to-mid fidelity aerospace prototypes and mockups.
- Select materials, components, and fabrication methods based on performance, cost, and build speed.
- Translate concepts and sketches into functional hardware and test rigs.
- Perform hands-on fabrication, build, and assembly tasks.
- Document build processes, test results, and design iterations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure prototypes meet performance requirements.
- Develop basic cost estimates for mockup designs.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of rapid prototype experience, preferably in aerospace.
- Skills in CATIA V5/V6/3DX or similar software.
- Hands-on experience with shop tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and aircraft systems.
